Michigan Battling Kentucky For Reigning Freshman/Defensive Player of Year Winner

The reigning Mountain West Defensive player of the Year and the Mountain West Freshman of the Year, Magoon Gwath is already drawing major interest in the portal. However, Kentucky and Michigan are the two believed to be out front for the 7-foot center:

San Diego State transfer big man Magoon Gwath is a top-10 player in On3’s portal rankings. There is a lot of smoke around both Michigan and Kentucky for the 7-foot freshman who averaged 8.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game this season.

Michigan is obviously looking for a replacement for Vlad Goldin who is out of eligibility.
