Tuukka Rask freaks out after shootout loss to Montreal

Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask has had a history of freaking out after losses and on Wednesday night he slipped back into his old ways after a 6-5 shootout loss to the visiting Montreal Canadiens.  Montreal made a miraculous comeback and tied the game with 8.2 seconds left on a power play goal by Andrei Markov.  Neither team could score in overtime where both teams had their share of chances but couldn’t convert.  No one scored in the shootout until Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher put on five-hole on Rask during the 6th round.

The freak-out from Rask is perfect in every aspect.  He doesn’t break his stick, he falls down and then his stick flies out of the camera view to center ice.  Rask couldn’t have had his tantrum go any worse if he tried.  The only worse goalie tantrum I’ve seen is Rask’s tantrum he threw in the AHL four years ago:

    In French we have an expression.It goes like this;
    “En Tuuka….!”
    And translated in English,it mean;”Oufffff,anyway….!”

    Almost as funny as Tim Thomas’ freakout, whiff of the puck and trip down the walkway during a shoot out loss to the Caps last year after Hendricks pulled “the Paralyzer” on him.

        Bruins eventually lose the shoot out, and yes Thomas tripped down the runway to the locker room, and nearly got stampeeded by his teammates, This clip isn’t long enough unfortunately.

    Speaking as a Bruins fan. Can we take this down already and give Tuukka a break.?

    A bad night ended with an embarrassing moment, and a week is long enough. Why don’t you replace it with a clip Subban’s unpenalized flying elbow to Lucic’s face? Perhaps some balanced reporting? What role the horrible officiating played in how the game ended?

    Rask had a right to be pissed at the end of that game, as did all of the Bruins and their fans…
