Pittsburgh Bar bans sale of Sam Adams during Bruins-Penguins series

Screen Shot 2013-05-30 at 2.36.41 PMThe Eastern Conference Finals between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Boston Bruins doesn’t start until Saturday, which gives Penguins fans little time to drink as much Sam Adams as they can at Howler’s Coyote Cafe.

The above photo appeared on their Facebook page, along with the comment “This is a public service announcement from the staff at Howlers.”

This isn’t the first time that a city playing the Bruins has disassociated themselves from the city of Boston during the Playoffs.  A Canadian restaurant chain called Boston Pizza became both Vancouver Pizza and Montreal Pizza during one postseason.  During the 2010 Stanley Cup Final a city named Boston Bar in British Columbia changed it’s name to Vancouver Bar.  Even Tim Hortons got in on the action changing Boston Creme donuts to Vancouver Creme donuts.  Something about the playoffs makes cities really hate Boston and the products they make.  No word on whether Boston will be retaliating against Pittsburgh in some way.
