Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows is known to be a pest and clearly he got under Minnesota Wild captain Mikko Koivu’s skin. While they were crossing paths near the benches for a line change, Mikko Koivu stole Alex Burrows glove and tossed it into the Wild bench. It was eventually tossed back onto the ice by the equipment manager when the referee came over to the bench to talk to them.
Oddly enough, this is not the first time that Mikko Koivu has stolen equipment from an opponent. Koivu stole Anaheim Ducks forward Bobby Ryan’s stick after he dropped his, and then Ryan picked up Koivu’s stick and scored a goal with it. The best part of the play is Ryan taunting Koivu by showing him the stick after he skated by Ryan after the goal. Talk about your all time backfires.
