LA Kings Lower Stanley Cup From Rafters During Banner-Raising Ceremony

The Los Angeles Kings put a new twist on the banner-raising ceremony on opening night on Wednesday. The Kings were hosting the San Jose Sharks when they added the new wrinkle, which included lowering the Stanley Cup from the rafters. Pretty awesome idea and some great execution, though the San Jose Sharks twitter account didn’t think so.

The Stanley Cup Champions banner was raised afterwards, as is tradition.
