Chris Neal wrecks Tim Gleason in fight, Sens-Canes fight 5 times

The Ottawa Senators and the Carolina Hurricanes had some serious issues with each other on Tuesday night.  The two teams combined for five fights and 76 penalty minutes.  What started off the whole ordeal was Ottawa Senators defenseman Jared Cowen utterly destroyed Carolina Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner.  Chad LaRose stepped up to Skinner’s defense and this was just the start of it.

You have to give LaRose credit for stepping up to the bigger Cowen, but he lost this one, which is why Cowen had to answer the bell later against Kevin Westgarth.

Nicholas Blanchard and Zack Smith squared off, followed by Westgarth and Cowen, then Tim Gleason and Chris Neal and finally Marc-Andre Bergeron and Milan Michalek.  Gleason and Neal was the most lopsided fight of the night after LaRose and Cowen and it will be interesting to see if the hostility carries over to their next matchup which will be next year.

The Senators went on to win the game 3-2, but that was hardly the most interesting part of this matchup.
