We’ve seen backup goalies take selfies with fans during preseason games before, and Phil Kessel take one unwillingly in the penalty box, but never has a starting goalie taken a selfie with a fan during a TV timeout. That’s exactly what Habs goalie Carey Price did during a TV timeout in the third period with a 2-0. A local Canadiens fan started snapping photos and Price did the amazing thing and leaned in to get into the frame better. Just awesome.
But I guess when you’re making saves like this, you can do whatever you want.
The Canadiens went on to win 3-1 over the Islanders.
UPDATE: Here’s the infamous selfie.
