Winnipeg Jets defenseman Adam Pardy went to pick up the puck in the corner when Chicago Blackhawks forward Brandon Bollig checked him through the glass. Not a totally uncommon play, but what happened next has certainly never happened before. A fan reached over, took Pardy’s helmet and then put it on. It appears that the female fan he was with dumped beer on Pardy, contributing to the bizarre series of events. The helmet was returned to Pardy and it’s safe to assume the fan was ejected. If you go to a hockey game and a player ends up nearly in your lap, I’d advise against taking his helmet.
