Packers and 49ers fight after Colin Kaepernick hit late

Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews brought down San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick with a solid hit while Kaepernick was out of bounds.  49ers’ Joe Staley came over to get after Matthews and this sparked a mini-brawl with some punches thrown.  There ended up being off-setting penalties and Kaepernick threw a touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin on the next play.

Not a smart play by Clay Mathews or the retaliation, but what was even worse was the officials making the wrong call and allowing the teams to replay 3rd down when it should have become 4th down as these were dead ball penalties. A bonehead call by the Packers before this when they would have forced a 4th down but instead accepted a 5 yd penalty and gave the 49s another chance at 3rd down, dumb.
