Ed Hochuli: “Yes there are penalties in the Pro Bowl”

No wonder Ed Hochuli is the NFL player’s favorite ref.  Hochuli was chosen to referee the Pro Bowl, tight shirt and all, and had the best line of the night after fans were booing a pass interference call on Champ Bailey.  The NFL will be okay with him saying this during the Pro Bowl, but I bet Roger Goodell would fine him if he said something like this during a regular season game.

These two clips are evidence enough that the Pro Bowl has out-lived its usefulness and market appeal. If this is what is going on then would someone please tell me again why they play the Pro Bowl?

The Pro Bowl always will be a joke of a game. Half the players picked to play either turn it down, or can’t play because they are in the Super Bowl. Nobody cares about it anyways. Just turn it into a skills competition or something. The last thing a player wants to do at the end of a season when they are tired and sore, is to travel to play in this meaningless game. I don’t blame players for turning it down.

The Pro Bowl has already been played? Dang, I managed to miss it. Or should I be thankful? Probably the latter.
