In the Colts 39-33 win over the Broncos, Reggie Wayne went down with an injury during the fourth quarter. From the GIF below you can see Andrew Luck’s throw on third-and-one being just behind Wayne, which forced Wayne to quickly stop. It’s reported that Wayne tore his ACL on this non-contact play.
When Michelle Tafoya asked Luck about Wayne’s injury after the game, Luck shouldered the blame saying, “It was his fault and was a terrible throw.”
The Colts improved to 5-2 on the season after Sunday’s win and first place in the AFC South. However, not having the team’s best receiver for possibly the remainder of the season would hurt mightily, even with the addition of Darrius Heyward-Bey.
