Kevin Durant Scores 25+ Points in 41 Straight Games, Passes Michael Jordan for 3rd on Record List

The Slim Reaper or Durantula, otherwise known as Kevin Durant, scored 38 points in the Thunder’s 122-115 loss in Phoenix on Saturday. Though his teammates evidently didn’t play well enough to win the game, the former Texas standout’s effort was enough to place him ahead of Michael Jordan on the record list for most consecutive games scoring 25+ points. This was Durant’s 41st straight game with 25+ points, a span in which he’s averaged an incredible 33+ points per game over the last 3 months in.

KD is only 25 years old and has currently scored 14,631 points in his career, which puts him less than 9,000 points behind 29-year-old LeBron James in all-time scoring. If he continues on this incredible pace, he’ll be sure to score more points King James did by age 29 and who knows, he could possibly bypass Kareem on the all-time scoring list by the end of his career someday. If anyone’s going to do it besides LeBron, it’s him.
