Virginia Tech WR Marcus Davis never blocks (Video)

I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like this.  Watching this video is utterly appalling.  Davis literally never puts in any effort when he should be blocking, and quite honestly, never does anything more than shadow the person he is supposed to be blocking.

I would love to hear what the coaches have to say when they see this game film from his most recent game against Florida State.  I mean seriously, how are the coaches going to react to this effort?  I’ve also never seen a football player ruin any chance he had at the NFL (no matter how small) with a two-minute YouTube video.  It’s actually pretty impressive.

In an interview with the Washington Post on Monday, Davis had this to say, “Obviously somebody was bored and they felt they could put up a video, but little did they know, they don’t know the half of it.  If that’s what they want to do with their free time, then I applaud them. Go ahead and do what you want. But at the end of the day, that’s not gonna define me. That’s not who I am.”

He then continued, “It is what it is.  I hope everybody gets what they want from it. It doesn’t faze me.  From the first game to now, I’ve made great improvements on my blocking,” Davis said Monday. “It’s not always perfect. It’s not always pretty. But at the same time, I can say I’ve gotten better from it, which is a plus. I still have things that I can work on being a receiver in general and that’s just one thing I want to continue to work on.”

With an attitude like that, it’s no wonder Davis and Virginia Tech haven’t lived up to the expectations that people had for them in the preseason.
