UConn and Notre Dame in talks to play at Fenway Park

UConn and Notre Dame are currently negotiating with each other to play a game at Fenway Park.  It would be a home game for Notre Dame, because all home games that UConn is a part of have to be held at their home stadium.  This is due to a contract with the state that they have, due to a rather large donation from the state to build the stadium.

The game would be played in 2014, and Fenway has been looking to get a few games played there like it used to when Boston University still had a football team.  Fenway hasn’t hosted a game since the New England Patriots played the Cincinnati Bengals in 1968; and in the course of its history, Fenway has hosted 41 football games.

No one is confirming much in the way of whether this game is going to happen or not, but it will be interesting to see who Notre Dame schedules in the future with their new ACC deal set to go into effect shortly.
