Did Jim Harbaugh Take A Parting Shot At D.J. Durkin?

During an interview with WXYZ-TV’s Brad Galli for the “Inside the Huddle” feature, Jim Harbaugh thanked D.J. Durkin for doing a ‘tremendous job’ in Ann Arbor but then appeared to have taken a shot at the new Maryland coach after it was announced Boston College’s Don Brown will take over as the DC.

“Don Brown was our favorite choice, first choice,” Harbaugh said. “I’ve always had this vision that if we lose a coach, and we lost D.J. Durkin, the head coach at Maryland, very excited for him and he’ll do a tremendous job. The goal is to find a better coach and I think we have a tremendous opportunity in Don Brown of accomplishing that goal. No disrespect to coach Durkin, because he’s a fabulous coach. Hey, that’s the goal.”

Last year, Brown led Boston College to the No. 1 ranked defense in the country, while Durkin’s Wolverines were No. 4.
