Indiana State player ejected for cheap shot on Indiana player

The new targeting rule where players can be ejected from the game for hits to their opponents head has been the subject of much controversy this summer.  But, there are some instances, such as this hit by Indiana State’s Carlos Aviles on Indiana’s Shane Wynn, where an ejection is much-deserved.  A hit like this is completely unnecessary, and since IU was up 59-28 when this hit took place, it was pretty clear that Aviles wanted to injure Wynn.  This is a brutal hit and should probably warrant a suspension.
