When I first saw this video, I totally expected Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney to get extremely upset, but he did a great job taking the comments in stride and fired back with his own jab.
South Carolina is heading to LSU this weekend and earlier this week Spurrier had a great comment by saying, “Most of our guys have never been to Death Valley. That is the Death Valley, isn’t it? Or is there another one? There’s two of them? That’s right, there’s two Death Valleys.” Obviously talking about the fact that the Clemson Tigers refer to their stadium as Death Valley.
When you’ve won as many games and been around as long as Steve Spurrier, you gain a lot of experience and come up with some great quips. Swinney was not unprepared though, and if you watch the video, you can see what he came back with; which was pure gold.
