The 5 best plays from the Heisman trophy contestants

1. Tyrann Mathieu (LSU): The  5-9, 180- pound Sophomore, has been a surprise and an instrumental part in LSU’s perfect season. The Honey Badger, as they call him, has two very big punt returns including this one against Arkansas.

2. Robert Griffin III (Baylor): Griffin was sensational this season and led Baylor to a 9-3 record. He delivered impressive highlights every single week and pulled off upsets with less talent than any of the other Heisman candidates.

3. Andrew Luck (Stanford): Watching Luck pick apart defenses makes me believe he’s the next Peyton Manning. Likely to be picked #1 by the Colts, Luck will be one hell of an NFL player, which I’m sure gets consideration from Heisman voters.

4. Trent Richardson (Alabama): Plain and simple, Richardson is a monster with the ball and no defender easily takes him down as he shows with this ridiculous run against Ole Miss. His Heisman campaign is helped by the fact he played for Alabama.

5. Montee Ball (Wisconsin): Although Ball did get the invite to NY with a total of 39 touchdowns this season, he deserves a lot more credit than what he’s getting. He helped Wisconsin to a B1G Championship game and a Rose Bowl appearance, but still it doesn’t seem like anyone is strongly considering him.

The players are in no particular order, although if I were voting I would have it: Griffin-Ball-Luck-Mathieu- Richardson.
