Kansas’ Joel Embiid out Big 12 Tournament, likely NCAA’s first weekend

Embiid-putback-dunk-Kansas-GtownKansas’ Diaper Dandy, Joel Embiid, won’t play in this weekend’s Big 12 Tournament and likely the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament as well because of a stress fracture in his back, Bilf Self announced.  Embiid, who was averaging 11 points and 8 rebounds a game, was in Los Angeles on Monday to see a back doctor. He sat out the last two games for Kansas.

From Bill Self:

“Next weekend, we feel like is a longshot, but the doctors are hopeful that if Joel works hard in rehab and progresses that it is possible that he could play in the later rounds of the NCAA Tournament if our team is fortunate enough to advance.”

Without the 7-foot presence of Embiid — how far does Kansas go in the Tournament? Are they even still a No.1 seed?
