Here Are The Top Uncommitted Recruits Considering Kentucky

Kentucky will make some late-additions to its 2015 recruiting class after it was announced that seven players from last year’s team will enter the NBA Draft. Three 2015 recruits are currently committed to the Wildcats – 5* C Skal Labissiere, 5* SG Isaiah Briscoe and 4* SG Charles Mathews.

Several of the top recruits for the 2015 class have yet to pick a school and with so many open roster spots, Kentucky likely strikes with at least a couple of them.

All rankings via 247Sports:

Jaylen Brown SF: #2 prospect – Brown released a trailer video for his top 8 schools and Kentucky is included. Brown did say he was going to an adidas school. We’ll see if he reconsiders that now that he likely has a guaranteed starting spot

Malik Newman SG: #4 prospect – The most likely to commit to Kentucky. Probably starts alongside Tyler Ulis in the backcourt next season. Can really fill it up – averaged nearly 30 ppg. during his junior season. Devin Booker is recruiting Newman for Kentucky.

Cheick Diallo PF: #6 prospect – His crystal ball is currently favoring Kansas, but Kentucky is right behind. The 6-foot-9 power forward would see plenty of playing time with so little front-court depth coming back.

Thon Maker C: #8 prospect – Not only are Kansas and Kentucky going head-to-head with Diallo, but also with Maker, a 7-footer out of Ontario. If one were to pick Kansas, for example, it’s possible the other decides on Kentucky.

Stephen Zimmerman C: #9 prospect – It’s a three-team battle between Arizona, UNLV and Kentucky. Zimmerman, a Las Vegas product, would be a huge get for Kentucky with his size and athleticism. Kentucky is currently trending upward for the center.

Brandon Ingram SF: #12 prospect  – A North Carolina native who is probably a UNC lean, John Calipari visited the 6-foot-8 prospect back in December. It seems highly unlikely UK misses out on Brown/Newman and Ingram even with 5* Isaiah Briscoe already in the fold.

All six of these 2015 recruits are currently participating in the Nike Hoops Summit in Portland, Oregon.
