Former MSU Player Shares Sexist Comment Tom Izzo Towards Women

Garrick Sherman, a one-time Michigan State player under Tom Izzo (he wound up transferring to Notre Dame), tweeted out the following after the Outside The Lines report stating the program-wide sexual assault cover-up from the Spartans Athletic Department:

Delvon Roe, who also played at Michigan State, replied to Sherman with the following:

In the ESPN piece it highlighted stories of former Spartan basketball players, Keith Appling and Adreian Payne, who were accused of crimes that included a rape allegation when they were recruits in 2010. Neither was disciplined nor were charges filed.

There was also a story about Travis Walton, a former MSU player, being accused of punching a female student in the face while he was a graduate assistant and then joining two Michigan State basketball players in sexually assaulting a different female student in 2010.

Izzo said following MSU’s win over Wisconsin on Friday night that he has no plans of retiring.
