With the news of Rutgers hiring its next defensive coordinator (Robb Smith), it appears that Anthony Campanile, who was the favorite to take the job, will be staying in Ann Arbor, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reports:
This is seemingly good news for #Michigan, as Wolverines linebackers coach Anthony Campanile had been a target for the Rutgers DC job. Campanile is expected to stay with the Wolverines. Rutgers retained his brother Nunzio, who served as interim head coach for much of 2019 season.

Camp, who coached LBs this year for UM, is the Wolverines’ top recruiter in the state of New Jersey.
The Wolverines already lost Chris Partridge to Ole Miss this offseason.
