Ben Scrivens makes 59 saves in record-setting performance

scrivensBen Scrivens, who was dealt from the Kings to the Oilers a mere two weeks ago, made 59 saves in a stellar 3-0 win over the Sharks on Wednesday night in which San Jose attempted 100 shots (shots that were blocked/on net/missed the net combined). The 59 saves were an Edmonton Oilers franchise record and the most ever recorded by a goaltender in a shutout appearance in NHL history.

Edmonton has no chance of making the playoffs this year, but if Scrivens can play as superiorly as he did for the Kings back in November again, the Oilers will have a ton of optimism going into next season.
