ESPN issues official apology for Brent Musburger’s comments during National Championship

Apparently  there was enough negative feedback about what Brent Musburger said about Katherine Webb during the National Championship game that they must have felt a need to apologize.  Musburger’s comments even resulted in his own parody Twitter account called: “Creepy Musburger.”

Here is ESPN’s official statement:

“We always try to capture interesting storylines and the relationship between an Auburn grad who is Miss Alabama and the current Alabama quarterback certainly met that test. However, we apologize that the commentary in this instance went too far and Brent understands that.”

I would imagine that Musburger will not be issuing his own public statement or apology and that this should cover it.
