Referees credit Michigan for first down that wasn’t gained, Spurrier freaks out

After a questionable decision by Michigan to go for it on 4th down from their own 35-yard line, after they blocked a field goal, things got even more ridiculous.  Michigan was short of the first down by a few inches, and the referees said that it was a first down.  South Carolina Gamecocks Head Coach Steve Spurrier freaked out and challenged the play.  The play stood as called, because there wasn’t enough evidence to overturn it.  It looks as though Michigan just caught a massive break.

The following play is even more crazy when Jadeveon Clowney clobbers Michigan’s Vincent Smith and recovers the fumble.
