On December 19th, the Virginia Tech equipment managers released the new Matte Helmet for their Russell Athletic Bowl matchup against Rutgers. I wanted to know why there wasn’t a logo on the side and why it was so plain, and now we have the answer; it wasn’t finished.
Today, the equipment managers released the finished look for the helmets and they look great. The logo is unique, the stripe is well-done and the best part is the sticker for the Sandy Hook and Virginia Tech shootings. Very classy move and these finished helmets were exactly what I hoped they would be.
