Mike Modano upset at Stephen Weiss for taking his old Red Wings number

It would appear that Mike Modano is none to pleased that Stephen Weiss decided to take Modano’s old number 90.  Weiss wore 9 in Florida and couldn’t wear 9 for the same reason that Modano couldn’t wear 9 when he came to Detroit from Dallas, Gordie Howe.  The Red Wings Twitter account chimed back in with a pretty funny response.

Even the Fake Stephen Weiss Twitter account had something to say about the matter.

No word on what the real Stephen Weiss thinks of the Modano’s statement, but I doubt he cares.  Modano only played 40 regular season games and two playoff games with the Red Wings so it’s not like the Red Wings could keep someone from wearing it forever.
