Denver’s Nick Shore drops UNH’s Kevin Goumas with hit to head in NCAA Hockey Tournament

During a first round game of the NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament Denver Pioneers forward Nick Shore delivered a cheap shot right to the bottom of New Hampshire Wildcats forward Kevin Goumas’ jaw.  Goumas was reaching out for a puck that was sailing through the air at shoulder level, when Shore skated right for him and delivered a blow to his head.  Goumas went down right away and appeared to be unconscious and shockingly there was no penalty called on the play.  New Hampshire went on to win the game 5-2, but Goumas is out for their game Northeast Regional Championship game on Saturday against UMass-Lowell.
