Bob Costas shreds CBS and their coverage of Augusta’s policies

On Friday, Bob Costas was a guest on the Dan Patrick Show and rather than keep the conversation lighthearted like Patrick likes to do, Costas took the opportunity to rip CBS for their coverage of Augusta.  Costas dug into the fact that CBS has continually ignored the history of Augusta’s racist and sexist admission policies and didn’t hold back.

While Costas has a point, you have to look at it from CBS’ point of view.  Augusta keeps them on a one-year contract to televise The Masters and so CBS doesn’t want to do anything to upset Augusta.  Augusta has a lot of influence over CBS’ telecast because of this one-year deal and CBS has chosen to take the money and deal with the backlash, rather than journalistic integrity.
