Kentucky Releases Plans For $45 Million Football Facility

Now that Kentucky is starting to have some success on the field (with more to come if recruiting pans out), the school has finally decided to upgrade the football facilities. It’s nothing quite like their state of the art basketball facilities (and soon to be $310 million Rupp Arena renovations), but it’s certainly a very good upgrade.

From Football Scoop:

Kentucky released plans today of their planned $45 million, 90,000 square foot training facility right next to Commonwealth Stadium.

Scheduled to open in the summer of 2016, the facility will house a state of the art locker room, players lounge, gaming area, new meeting rooms (with theatre seating), and coaches’ offices, as well as a new dining facility, nutrition and health services, and a brand new expansive strength and conditioning area.

“The goal is to give the UK football player a place that allows them to train the body and the mind so they can better utilize the time they have each day,” Marc Hill, UK’s executive associate AD for Internal Operations told The Courier-Journal.

“Plus, we needed some upgrades to help with the recruiting piece as well.”

Here are the renderings:
