After recently adding his name into the transfer portal but noting that he will test NBA waters, Johnell Davis, FAU’s star player the last two season, could be one to watch for the Wolverines. Not only because his former head coach is now in Ann Arbor but also because of their latest assitant coaching hire – Akeem Miskdeem. The two apparently are quite close, as you can see in the photo below, from a game during the AAC Tournament:

Miskdeen recruited Davis out of Indiana:
“Johnell [Davis] was at a small school in Gary, and [former assistant coach] Akeem Miskdeen on staff had recruited an older player from his team at Kent State,” May begins. “We’re making our rounds to the midwest, and he said we’re going to stop in Gary and go to an open gym.”
“We walked in, and he hadn’t seen him for a year or two since he was young. Just knew he was a good, young prospect, and we watched him, and he just had a really, really unique game, so we fell in love with him.”
