Luis Suarez Banned For 9 Matches And Four Months By FIFA For Biting Giorgio Chiellini

FIFA announced this afternoon that Uruguay’s Luis Suarez has been banned for nine matches and four months for all football activities for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini. Suarez will also be fined 100,000 Swiss francs.

It’s the third biting incident for Suarez but the first in FIFA competition. A big ban but a fair one in my eyes. Suarez’s ban starts Saturday as Uruguay takes on Colombia in the Round of 16.
