Nathan Gerbe with a filthy between-the-legs goal of the year candidate

Carolina Hurricanes forward Nathan Gerbe absolutely blew Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Luke Schenn’s doors off on this play in the second period. Once Gerbe was in the clear, he went down on Steve Mason and buried this beautiful between-the-legs goal to give the Hurricanes a two-goal lead. This is definitely one of the goals of the year so far and the between-the-legs shot seems to be the flavor of the week right now. If you can do it, it becomes a highlight but if you make a mistake, let’s just say everyone will be less than kind about it.
