Jayru Campbell, a Michigan State QB commit, body-slammed school security guard


2015 Michigan State football commit Jayru Campbell  is making news for all the wrong reasons. The four-star quarterback recruit was videotaped by a fellow Cass Tech student, body-slamming a security guard at his high school on Wednesday afternoon. The original video was pulled by the Instagram user, but we were able to capture it before it disappeared from the web.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Campbell, who was suspended in November for throwing a punch at an opposing player, had his scholarship offer from Michigan State pulled after this latest event.

Thomas Wilcher, Campbell’s coach at Cass Tech, confirmed to WXYZ that Campbell did get in trouble on Wednesday. Click on Detroit reports Campbell will be facing assault charges and is currently in Detroit Police custody.
