Marist guard hits 65-foot buzzer beater to send game to 2nd OT

The Marist basketball team has had a difficult season to say the least, currently finding themselves in last place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.  On Thursday night though, their season finally gave the fans and players something to be happy about.

Sophomore guard Chavaughn Lewis received the inbounds past with 2.6 seconds left in overtime.  Trailing their conference rival Iona 94-91, Lewis heaved a desperation shot from about 65 feet out and drilled it.  The game went to a second overtime, where the Red Foxes pulled out the win after their miraculous tie, 105-104.

You can see just how devastating of a shot it was for Marist to make by the Iona players’ reaction.
