Sidney Crosby Considering Playing In Europe During Lockout

When Evgeni Malkin was asked earlier about his teammate and NHL superstar Sidney Crosby and the chances that he would play in the KHL in the event of a lockout, he said that he wouldn’t unless it was announced the lockout would be for the whole season.  Since then, Crosby told the Post Gazette that he hasn’t ruled out playing in Europe in the event of a lockout.

Crosby hasn’t announced a time frame for his decision, or anything specific, but given the fact that he hasn’t played more than half a season since the 2009-2010 season, he will want to stay on the ice as much as possible.  While he could just be mulling his options over, it is not a good sign that one of the most talented players in the world is considering taking his talents elsewhere in the event of a lockout. After all, it does seem apparent that another lockout is imminent.
