Nathan Horton Could Make NHL History By Not Playing vs. Stars

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nathan Horton is rumored to not be playing on Wednesday against the Dallas Stars, which has him in line to set an NHL record that will surely never be broken.

Wednesday’s Blue Jackets-Stars game is out of the ordinary. It was the game that was postponed following Rich Peverley’s health scare. The NHL announced that the two teams will start over and play a full 60 minute game, but the Blue Jackets will keep their 1-0 lead they had at the time Peverley collapsed.

And who scored that one goal, you ask? Nathan Horton.

So, Horton could be the first player to score a goal in an NHL game that he didn’t dress for. Horton’s goal will be credited at 0:00 and will not count as a shot on goal, just to make the situation even more unique. This is going to make for a fun Sports Trivia question one day.
