Henrik Lundqvist’s toe save is candidate for save of the year

The New York Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist have had a rocky season so far but have shown glimpses of the powerhouse they could be.  When playing the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night, Lundqvist made two insane back-to-back saves.  Rangers defenseman Ryan Mcdonagh made a terrible play with the puck and it squirted across the crease right to Sabres forward Thomas Vanek, who has been lethal so far this year.  Vanek fired one low and Lundqvist made a great save going post-to-post.  Vanek then got his own rebound and as Lundqvist was down and out, he kicked his leg up in the air and stopped Vanek’s second shot.  To do this was purely incredible and Vanek seemed to be in disbelief afterwards and rightly so.
