Alexander Ovechkin responds to Mike Milbury’s criticism

After getting shredded by Mike Milbury on NBC Sports Network between periods of the Washington Capitals-Philadelphia Flyers game, Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin responded to the criticism Milbury handed out.

Quite honestly, this is the best response Ovechkin could have had.  Milbury had a short career as a head coach at Boston College, lasting only three months.  But in his one-year stint as head coach for the Boston Bruins in the 1989-1990 season, he led them to the Stanley Cup finals.

Milbury’s real problems though came when he was General Manager of the New York Islanders.  Most notably he traded Roberto Luongo and Olli Jokinen for Oleg Kvasha and Mark Parrish, drafted Rick DiPietro 1st overall in 2000 over Marian Gaborik and Dany Heatley, and then in 2001, he traded Zdeno Chara and the 2nd overall pick (Jason Spezza) for Alexei Yashin.  Needless to say, there’s a reason he is on TV and not working in an NHL Front Office somewhere.
