Rams Release Former No.1 Pick Jake Long

Former Wolverine Jake Long, who two off-seasons ago signed a 4-year, $34 million dollar deal with the St. Louis Rams, has been cut by the team, Ian Rapoport reports. Long, the No.1 overall pick in the 2008, suffered serious injuries in both the seasons he played for St. Louis. Cutting Long will save St. Louis around $12 million dollars and pave way for last year’s No.2 overall pick, Greg Robinson at left tackle.
