Mike Wallace is first athlete to tweet negatively about Jason Collins

This morning Boston Celtics forward Jason Collins came out, becoming the first gay athlete active in professional sports.  Collins has received a lot of praise, as well as some criticism, and Mike Wallace became the first pro athlete to openly criticize Collins’ decision.  It’s people like Mike Wallace that keep other gay athletes in hiding.  I’m sure the Miami Dolphins are absolutely thrilled that Wallace decided to speak out on the Collins decision.

The tweets have obviously been deleted and now we await a statement from Wallace or his agent about his Twitter account getting hacked.

UPDATE: The Dolphins have released a statement regarding Wallace’s tweet.
