Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford had an interesting morning and was fortunately able to avoid a bridge collapse on the Southfield Freeway. Stafford was one of the many motorists stopped on the highway after a truck hit the bridge.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the Lions said Stafford did not see the bridge actually collapse but was one of the first vehicles stopped by the crumbling debris.
Stafford was also fined by his teammates for making the news in a way that wasn’t related to football.
Unfortunately the truck drive that hit the bridge ended up passing away.
