Bengals Coach Marvin Lewis Calls Johnny Manziel A ‘Midget’

Johnny Manziel will reportedly start at QB for the Cleveland Browns Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Marvin Lewis, the Bengals head coach, gave the Browns and Manziel some bulletin board material while interviewing with WLW-AM in Cincinnati on Monday:

“You gotta go defend the offense. You don’t defend the player,” Lewis said before adding, “Particularly a midget.”

Lewis later apologized for his remark.

“I apologize to Johnny, the Browns and all the fans in Cleveland,” Lewis said. “It was just a poor remark. I really didn’t mean anything by it.”

Manziel is listed at 6-feet tall for what it’s worth.
