Russell Westbrook throws tantrum on Thunder bench

Russell Westrbook plays with a lot of passion as he showed during Thursday’s 17-point blowout of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Westbrook was called for a 5-second violation in the third quarter, and he was upset with teammate Thabo Sefolosha for bringing his defender into the lane.

Westbrook was subbed out of the game and that’s where he lost his cool. Assistant coach Maurice Cheeks attempted to console Westbrook but he was far too heated and left the bench and headed for the locker room.

Kevin Durant, following the game, said of Westbrook’s blow up, “It wasn’t the first. It’s not going to be the last.” Clearly Durant and the rest of the Thunder have witnessed Westbrook do this in practice a few times.
