Update: Real GM is reporting that Stoudemire has agreed to terms with the Dallas Mavericks. Stoudemire could play with Dallas as early as Thursday against the Thunder.
Amar’e Stoudemire reached an agreement with the New York Knicks to be bought out before Sunday’s NBA All Star Game, the New York Daily News reports. Stoudemire, 32, who missed 17 games because of injury this season, was nearing the conclusion of the five-year, $100 million dollar deal he signed with the Knicks in 2010. He will cost the team $8,538,125 to not play in New York for the remainder of the 2015 season.
Many teams, including several from Western Conference, have been mentioned as interested in the power forward’s services. The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly the favorites, but the Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns and Cleveland Cavaliers also may be intrigued to sign Stoudemire as well.

In his 13 seasons in the NBA, Stoudemire has averaged 20 ppg. and 8 rebounds. He has not been the same athletic-big since the 2011, because of knee problems and other issues, but he certainly could be a serviceable big off the bench for a team in the playoffs.
