Joe Madden Brings In Medicine Man To Help Slumping Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays are in a bit of a funk recently having lost 12-of-the-last-13 games and haven’t scored a run in their last 19 innings. Manager, Joe Madden, wanted to bring in a new spirit at the Tropicana Field, so he brought in a medicine man.  Via The Tampa Bay Times:

The team brought Bobby Henry, a medicine man with the Seminole Tribe, to try to snap out of their current funk – a stretch of 12 losses in their last 13 games.

“We just turned him loose on the Trop,” Maddon said. Henry, 77, walked around Tropicana Field before today’s 1:10 game against Seattle and spent time in the Rays’ dugout before the game.

The Seminole medicine man’s spell didn’t work for Monday night’s game as the Rays lost to the Mariner, 3-0; maybe it will take some time.
