Angels Batting Coach Don Baylor Breaks Leg Catching First Pitch from Vladimir Guerrero


Vladimir Guerrero, possibly the greatest Angel of all time, signed a one-day contract with the formerly Anaheim-named team on Monday to officially retire with the team. So, Opening Day was basically coined Guerrero Day and Vlad threw out the first pitch. However, all did not go as planned; while catching the pitch, the Angels hitting coach, Don Baylor, broke his leg.

Here’s a look at Baylor attempting to get up after suffering the injury:

That home plate at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim causes a lot of trouble. If you recall, Kendrys Morales broke his leg jumping on it celebrating a walk-off grand slam back in 2010:
