Nicholas Thompson’s amazing shot from water lands inches from hole

Nicholas Thompson’s tee shot on #17 during the third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational landed in the water.  It was propped up enough in the sand that he decided to hit it, rather than take a drop and add a stroke.  Thompson stripped off his shoes and socks, rolled up his pants and then proceeded to hit one of the best shots of the entire tournament.

Thompson went on to save par after this amazing shot that landed just inches from the cup.  Unfortunately, Thompson was 3-over for the day and is currently 5-over for the tournament.  Meanwhile, Tiger Woods shot 6-under and is in first place at 11-under heading into Sunday’s final round.
