BU’s Matt O’Connor Loses Puck, Gives Up Bizarre Goal In National Championship Game

The Providence College Friars rallied from a 3-2 deficit to defeat the Boston University Terriers on Saturday in the National Championship game and this utterly bizarre goal was the catalyst that started all of it.

BU goalie Matt O’Connor caught a dump in from the red line and then the strangest thing happened. He looked like he didn’t know if he caught it or not and panicked and started looking around. Then he dropped the puck between his legs and knocked it into the net. It’s honestly one of the strangest goals I’ve ever seen and I feel bad for the kid. I give him credit for taking questions from the media.
