Rumors Of Ryan Day, Assistant Coaches Future Cost OSU A Five-Star Recruit

Ohio State lost out on one of its top commits during the early signing period as Terrance Brooks, the No. 18 player in the 2022 class, flipped to in-state Texas. Rumblings about the future status of DB coach Kerry Coombs and even head coach Ryan Day were one of the main reasons Brooks, a DB, flipped to the Longhorns. Here’s what the OSU site Lettermen Row wrote of Brooks’ decommitment:

Rumors about Coombs future — and even speculation on Ryan Day’s — opened the door for Texas. The Longhorns have been selling a rebirth in Austin and Brooks and his family were listening.

The Buckeyes still signed a top 5 class.
